Who am I?
I'm a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, an entrepreneur, a dedicated employee, a stage 4 cancer survivor, an optimist, a problem solver, a happiness seeker, a believer in a higher power and of HOPE.
I am "The Lizzie Experience" and I'm sharing my journey through this crazy, difficult, rewarding, amazing, fabulous, challenging life. My goal is simple: I want to spread Happiness and Hope for those struggling through difficulties. Sharing experiences, wellness strategies, mindfulness exercises, uplifting quotes, affirmations, feel good stories & photos. Providing opportunities for self awareness, reflection and growth.
I love being with people, sharing a coffee and sharing life stories, the good, the bad and the inspiring!
In the last ten years or so, I've had to deal with some very serious personal, friend and family struggles. Life threatening illness (my own stage 4 cancer diagnosis), mental health, alcohol abuse, death of a loved one, job loss, financial worries and divorce. These are struggles that families deal with all the time. But, I have made a real effort to learn as much as I can from these experiences. From meetings with doctors, therapists, social workers, to attending Al-Anon meetings and Divorce Care course. Taking courses like safeTALK (suicide alertness for everyone) and WRAP (wellness recovery action plan) I have made it a priority to learn all I can and to lessen the stigma and improve awareness for myself and for others.
Through the process, I have developed an ability to listen more intently, to observe more closely and to engage more fully.
We all need a safe place to share and be heard without judgement. So a big part of my practice is support. Gently guiding, through loving and peaceful exercises and resources.
I am full of gratitude daily and I am truly blessed for all of my experiences and the people in my life and those I meet along the way. Thank you!
