He turns 97 on Thursday
When I say, "Okay Dad, talk tomorrow.."
there's a pause in my heart now.
Goodbyes feel different. They carry weight. They
carry gratitude. They carry tears you don't always
expect.
Today he said,
"You're a beautiful woman and a lovely daughter."
And then, "I love you.
And I had to steady myself.
There is no promise of tomorrow
Not because he is 97 -
but because I have lived long enough to understand
how fragile life can be at any age
So with him, I live in the now. Fully. Intentionally.
Gratefully.
Every call is a gift.
Every "I love you" is sacred
Every moment is borrowed and blessed.
He is 97 years of strength, resilience, and quiet
wisdom.
And I am so thankful I still get to call my Dad 💗
I don't take these calls for granted anymore.
Hold the moments you still have. They matter more
than we realize.
Say the 'I love you'.
Every time.
