Blog - Resilience isn't just something I talk about, it's something I have to live.

Sometimes resilience isn't just something I talk about, it's something I have to live.

Anyone who has been following The Lizzie Experience knows I took a fall about 12 days ago. What I didn't share was how serious it was. I fractured two ribs and injured my hip and flank, soft tissue damage. I've been off work since, and in those first moments, I definitely asked myself, "Why me? WTF?"

This is what I know: setbacks don't ask permission. They always seem to show up right when you're starting something new - whether it's a job, a workout plan, a diet, or a passion project. And that's when you really need your 'resilience toolbox'.

I've been leaning hard on mine. The same tools I try to teach, I use myself - because they work. And even in the midst of pain and frustration, there are silver linings. For me it's been my friends, my writing (even if less focused), and the chance to read more. These are small but powerful gifts that help me heal and keep going.

Right now, I'm writing this from the couch with a heating pad on my back, my Stella beside me. I may be slowed down, but I'm still moving forward. That's resilience. That's The Lizzie Experience.

This is just a moment in time.

✨ Don't focus on the adversity itself - focus on what comes from it. That's where the magic lives.
