Not Fragile Like a Flower… Fragile Like a Bomb 💥
Today is International Women's Day, and this little ornament always comes to mind.
It was given to me by a strong woman I met through my work @dirtdiva_christina - One of those unexpected connections where two women cross paths, share a moment of understanding, and something meaningful is passed along.
And the message on it has always stayed with me.
"Not fragile like a flower.
Fragile like a bomb."
The quote is often attributed to Frida Kahlo, an artist who lived through enormous physical pain and personal hardship - yet turned it into art, expression, and power.
And that's the difference.
A flower is delicate.
A bomb holds power.
Women are often described as fragile, sensitive, or soft. But fragility doesn't mean weakness. Sometimes, it means depth, intensity, and power waiting to be unleashed.
Every woman I know has faced something difficult.
Loss. Illness. Betrayal. Reinvention. Fear.
And here's what I see again and again:
Women rise.
Women rebuild.
Women support each other.
We lift ourselves up…
and then we reach back and lift someone else.
That, to me, is the true definition of success.
Not just what we achieve for ourselves —
but how we strengthen our communities, our families, our friends, and yes…the men in our lives too 💕
So today I celebrate women everywhere who are:
✨ resilient
✨ courageous
✨ compassionate
✨ and powerful beyond measure
Not fragile like flowers.
Fragile like bombs. 💥
Happy International Women's Day.
