I Chose the Fresh Start (Even When It Felt Scary)
There's a very specific kind of happiness that comes from closing a door you know you were meant to walk away from.
I'm sitting in it this morning.
And I can't quite explain it…but I feel lighter. Clearer. Free.
Today, that chapter is officially over. The keys handed back. The lease done. The space that once held me… released.
That apartment was once my haven.
My peace.
My place to land.
Until it wasn't.
Somewhere along the way, it shifted. Quietly. Gradually.
What once felt safe started to feel heavy.
What once felt comforting started to feel like a weight.
And I knew.
It was time.
People suggested I stay longer.
"Just extend it."
"Give yourself more time."
"You've been through so much."
And I understand where that came from.
But deep down, I didn't want more time there.
I wanted closure.
I wanted movement.
I wanted a clean break.
I didn't want to drag something forward that no longer fit my life.
So I made the decision to go.
Not because it was easy.
Not because it was perfectly timed.
But because it felt right.
There is something incredibly powerful about choosing yourself before everything feels certain.
Before you have all the answers.
Before everything is perfectly lined up.
Before it feels 100% safe.
Sometimes the clarity comes after the decision.
Sometimes the peace shows up once you move.
Because now...
Everything feels different.
The energy has shifted.
My space feels like possibility.
Even the smallest things—my morning coffee, the way the light comes in, the affection from my sweet Stella—feel amplified.
Like life is gently saying,
"Yes…this way."
And what's ahead of me right now?
A new chapter that feels alive.
Building The Lizzie Experience.
Writing my book.
Creating space for one-on-one conversations that matter.
Taking care of my body with intention.
Moving forward—not perfectly—but purposefully.
It's all right here.
Waiting.
Is it a little scary?
Of course.
The truth:
You can feel fear…
and still know you made the right decision.
You can feel uncertainty…
and still trust your next step.
You can walk away from something that once felt good…
because you've outgrown it.
This isn't just about moving out of an apartment.
It's about moving into a life that fits who I am now.
And that feels like freedom.
Resilience in Action:
Radical Self-Trust + Courageous Letting Go
Sometimes resilience isn't about pushing through.
Sometimes it's about recognizing when something has run its course—and having the courage to release it.
