Every Mother's Day, I take a quiet moment to send a little prayer out into the universe.

A prayer for the women in China who gave my daughters life.

Both of my girls are adopted, and every year on this day, I find myself thinking of their birth mothers with deep gratitude. I will never fully know their stories, their heartbreak, their circumstances, or the depth of their sacrifice…but I do know this:

Because of them, I was given the extraordinary privilege of becoming a mother.

And what a gift that has been.

My daughters are now beautiful women, and loving them has been one of the greatest honours of my life. There are no words big enough for the gratitude I carry — for the mothers who brought them into this world, and for the life that brought us together.

Mother's Day will always hold a deeper meaning for me because of that.

To all mothers, in all the ways motherhood exists…Happy Mother's Day. 💕

And to my girls: thank you for making me Mom.
