๐ŸŽถ Dancing in My Living Room (Because Why Not?)

It's almost the weekend, and if you've been around here long enough, you know that if I have no plans - it's Lizzie's living room dance night.

Here's the scene: it's Friday evening. The workweek is done. On the way home, I pick up something delicious - maybe sushi, maybe shawarma, maybe teriyaki. I pour myself a glass of wine - light a candle or two and turn on my favorite playlist.

And thenโ€ฆit happens.
A song comes on that moves me.
Not just a tap-your-foot kind of move - I mean move me. Like, full-body, heart-wide-open, unplanned, uninhibited movement. It's not a dance you'd choreograph or perform; it's a dance you feel.

And if you think that's the end of the story, think again. Because this "one-woman dance party" often turns into a workout session. I grab my little weights - two pounds, three pounds, maybe five if I'm feeling ambitious and suddenly I'm doing bicep curls to Depeche Mode and squats to Dua Lipa. It's ecstatic dance meets living-room gym, and honestly - I love it ๐Ÿ’•.

Somewhere between a laugh, a song, and a spin across the floor, I know that joy is not something you wait for - it's something you create. Dancing brings me that joy!

And when I finally crawl into bed later that night - I realize I didn't just spend a Friday night "alone." I spent it in the company of music, movement, and me ๐Ÿ˜Š

So maybe this blog post is coming out on a Thursday for a reason - a little prep work for tomorrow night.
Pick your playlist. Set the mood.
And when that one song hits...

๐Ÿ’ช Resilience in Action
Joyful movement + self-expression;
When we move our bodies freely, without judgment, we tap into something deeper - a sense of presence, release, and pure, unfiltered joy. Dancing alone reminds us that we are our own best company and that happiness often starts right where we are.

๐ŸŒธ If this post made you smile or inspired you to turn up the music this weekend, follow The Lizzie Experience and share this with a friend who could use a little living-room dance party of their own. ๐Ÿ’ƒโœจ
